Steve & Heather Plans

Steve arrived home on the 16th to our great delight! It's been wonderful to have him back and to just be a family again. A couple of days later we had a visitor, K, our friend from Kolkata (Calcutta). K and his wife began the work that we feel God is sending us to join. We had a fantastic time just getting to know him and asking questions about Kolkata. Steve has known K for years but it was Heather and the kids' first time to meet him face to face.(You cannot be in India as an 'M', the word that people in our line of work are commonly known by. It is also against the law to change your religion there. From here on out we will have to be a bit cryptic as we talk about names of people and ministries, etc, in India on the Web. Once we're in India that will apply to us as well in emails that we receive.) We are going to India to work with Free**set (minus the *'s). FS is a business located in the heart of a notorious sex district in Kolkata. This district is less than one mile square and is the home and workplace of at least 6000 women (some sources say up to 12,000) that around 20,000 men visit nightly.

Sandell Family In Thailand

During the last few months there has been many new things happening to the Sandell Family both in the USA and here in Thailand. In July and August I was in the states to help move all of our children from Ohio to Kansas.  After getting everyone settled in Kansas I returned to Thailand to check up on dental projects and the Lahu Shehleh Church work. The first few weeks of Sept. was the typical Thailand weather for that time of the year; rain, more rain, and floods. We even had our first flood here in Mae Sot since we have lived here. Therefore, most of my time was spent here at the Mae Sot  Dental Clinic and working with the Mae Sot School Dental Program.  It was only later in the month of Sept that I was able to travel to see Lahu workers in Chiang Mai.
